Administering : Setting up workspaces : Importing a workspace

Importing a workspace
You can import workspaces that are exported from Focal Point®. You might want to import workspaces when you move a workspace from one installation to another.
Before you begin
The property URI of the integration link attributes in the workspace that you are importing must be specified to ensure that integration link entries are successfully imported. Before importing a workspace from a Focal Point® release earlier than 6.6.1, make sure that the property URI of the integration link attributes are specified. If the property URI of the integration link attributes in the workspace to be imported is not specified, export the required workspace again after specifying the property URI.
About this task
To import a workspace, you must be a global administrator or have the Workspace permission. As the server uses many resources to import workspaces, import workspaces when as few users as possible are logged in. When you import a new workspace, links to other workspaces are ignored. Baselines are also not included.
Note The changes caused by importing a workspace cannot be rolled back. Backup the database before importing a workspace.
Procedure
1 Click the Workspaces menu, and select View All.
Alternatively, select Administration from the User menu, and then click General, and then Workspaces. The My Workspaces page is displayed.
2 Click Import.
3 Click Browse, and then locate the .fpz file that has the workspace to be imported.
If you do not have a file that contains a workspace, you must export a workspace.
If you are exporting a workspace from releases earlier than Focal Point® 6.6.1, specify the property URI of the integration link attributes in the workspace to ensure that integration link entries are successfully imported. When the workspace is exported, an XML representation of the workspace is stored in a compressed file that has the extension .fpz. The compressed file contains the XML files, and the files that were uploaded to file attributes in the workspace, such as images.
4 Click OK.
Results
After the workspace is imported, a workspace link is displayed. Click the link to open the workspace.
What to do next
If element IDs of attributes such as Choice Items and Views are used in a business rule, you must update the IDs in the business rule after importing the workspace.
