Incoming links
The incoming links attribute lists the elements that link to an element. This attribute is useful when your test cases link to the requirements that they test, and you want to list all of the test cases that target a specific requirement. An incoming links attribute cannot be edited. It is automatically updated when another element is linked to the element or when the link or the element is removed. In the Attribute Editor, you can specify the set of modules or views from which to list the incoming links. By default, elements from all modules are included. You can also determine whether incoming links from other workspaces are listed.
Note Incoming links should not be set up using a view that has a “current user” rule as part of the view definition.
Incoming links settings
Incoming links attributes are like link attributes. With a link attribute, you can insert a link from one element to another. When you view an element, incoming links attributes display the elements that link to that element. You cannot edit incoming links.

Note Make sure that the users can access this incoming link. Users must have access to the workspaces and modules that you specify.
You can configure the following settings:
Display links from all other Workspaces: If this check box is selected, the incoming links from all other modules in all other workspaces are automatically displayed. If this check box is cleared, you must specify the modules in other workspaces from which you want to see the incoming links.
Link from Views: To select the views for this incoming links attribute, click the Click to Edit link. You can specify that incoming links are shown from specific views only.
User-defined filters are not applied in the incoming links attribute. Link from Views is not available from Focal Point® 6.6.1.
Modules: If the Display Links From All Other Workspaces check box is cleared, you must select one or more modules for the incoming link attribute. To select the module, click the Click to edit link, and select the check boxes corresponding to the modules. If modules are defined for an incoming link attribute, a regular user can view only the incoming links from the selected modules. If only one module is selected, Focal Point® 6.6.1 and above provides the option to select an attribute of the selected module.
Source attribute: If the Display Links From All Other Workspaces check box is not selected and if you selected only one module, you can specify a source attribute. If a source attribute is defined for an incoming link attribute, a regular user can view only the incoming links from the source attribute. Click the Click to edit link to select a different source attribute.
To select a different module, click the Clear link and clear the source attribute selection. If you try to edit the Modules setting without clearing the source attribute selection, you can select only the views for the configured module.
The option to specify a source attribute is available only in Focal Point® 6.6.1 and later.
Sort Links In Tree Order: If this check box is selected, the incoming links are sorted in this order:
Workspace (alphabetic order)
Module (Module list order)
Element (Tree order)
If you sort elements according to an attribute on the module level, that order is used instead of the Tree order. If this check box is cleared, the links are displayed alphabetically according to the prefix:title combination.
Visual
You can configure the following setting:
List Display: Select from the list of available display formats for the links:
Default: Displays all the links.
Loaded on click: Displays a Click to Load link that can be clicked to display all the links. From Focal Point® 6.6.0.1 onwards, the Click to Load link is replaced by Show All Links. Click on Show All Links to view the entire list. A Hide All Links link is displayed with the list of links. Click on Hide All Links to hide the links.
Paginated: Displays a limited number of links along with pagination controls to browse through all of the links. You can specify the number of links to be displayed on a page by using the text box that is displayed on selecting this display format.
Loaded in background display format is available only in releases that are earlier than Focal Point® 6.6.1. If you had selected Loaded in background as a display format in a previous version of Focal Point®, it is changed automatically to the Default display format when you upgrade to Focal Point® 6.6.1, and later.
