Module 1: Configure the financial model
This module describes how to configure a financial model. The lessons in this module describes the streams that must be considered, and attributes that must be configured before building a financial model. This module must be completed to use the Investment analysis component in Focal Point®.

After you complete the lessons in this module, you will know how to do these tasks:
Determine the monetary and non-monetary streams of a project
Configure the time grid attribute
Configure the attributes to retrieve the financial metric results

Prerequisites
You must have Focal Point® installed and have access as a workspace administrator.
Lessons in this module
Lesson 1: Determine the monetary and non-monetary parameters
In this lesson, you learn how to determine the monetary and non-monetary parameters for the development of software application for the mobile project. These are the key computations that must be considered when configuring the financial model for any project. In this tutorial, these parameters are called streams.
Lesson 2: Configure the time grid attribute
In this lesson, you create and configure the time grid attribute for financial analysis. You add the monetary and non-monetary streams that you determined to the time grid attribute.
Lesson 3: Create attributes to retrieve the financial metrics
In this lesson, you create the attributes to retrieve the financial metrics. You use the alias of the time grid attribute as a prefix for the alias of each these result attributes.
Lesson 4: Create a project element
In this lesson, you create an element for your project, set the start date and end date for your project. The project duration is set using the two date attributes that you had created; Project start date and Project end date.
Lesson 5: Launch the Investment analysis mode
In this lesson, you start the Investment analysis mode to build a financial model of your project.
