Authenticating by using Rational Directory Server
You can use IBM Rational Directory Server to authenticate users and manage user information.
Rational Directory Server can interact with an existing corporate LDAP server, as a stand-alone solution, or in the Operating System mode with operating system users. Rational Directory Server supports Single Sign-On between supported Rational applications.
When you log in to Focal Point, it is registered with Rational Directory Server. Registration gives Rational Directory Server access to Focal Point website and its web services API. You can then create and store relationships in Rational Directory Server for the objects in Focal Point and supported Rational applications. When Focal Point is closed, it is unregistered in the Rational Directory Server.
