Adding an OpenSocial gadget of an external application to the homepage
On the Focal Point homepage, display the information that is fetched from external applications by using OpenSocial gadgets. The URL to the external application must be in XML format.
Before you begin
You must be a workspace administrator.
Procedure
1 Log in to Focal Point as workspace administrator, and then open the workspace to which to add the gadget.
2 Click user name > Home Page Settings.
3 Click Add Window, and then click OpenSocial gadget.
4 In the XML URL field, enter the URL of the OpenSocial gadget application that you want to display in the homepage.
5 Select Visible, and then click OK.
A new section on OpenSocial gadget is added in the homepage setting window.
6 Click the Home menu.
The content fetched by the OpenSocial gadget is displayed on the homepage.
Note Some of the gadgets might need initial configuration. For example, for the gadget on weather, you must enter the city and other optional settings for the gadget to function correctly.
