Administering : Setting up workspaces : Exporting a workspace

Exporting a workspace
Workspaces are exported as compressed XML files. You can import an exported workspace in other installations of the product.
Before you begin
Before exporting a workspace from a Focal Point version earlier than 6.6.1, specify the property URI of the integration link attributes. This will ensure that the integration link entries are successfully imported while importing the workspace.
About this task
When the export starts, all the users in the workspace are logged out and cannot log in again until the export is completed. Baselines are not included in a workspace export.
Procedure
1 Click the Workspaces menu, and select View All. The My Workspaces page is displayed.
2 Click the Actions menu corresponding to the workspace to be exported. You can export only the workspaces in which you have workspace administration permissions.
3 Select Export workspace.
4 Select the export type: Full export, Limited export, Selective export, Attribute configuration export, or Vocabulary terms export.
Read the on-screen instructions carefully.
5 If you selected Full export, Limited export, or Selective export, the Options list is displayed. You can select from one of the available export options:
Export only member folders, public filters and no notifications
Export all members including folders, all filters and notifications
Export all members including folders, all filters and no notifications
Export all members including folders, public filters and notifications
Export all members including folders, public filters and no notifications
The default option is “Export only member folders, public filters, and no notifications”.
6 Click OK.
The duration of the export depends on the size of the workspace.
If the workspace includes link or link list attributes that link to other workspaces, those links are not included in the export. This rule applies to the attribute configuration for Allowed target modules.
OSLC data from the Add Friend window such as the OSLC Name Space URI, the OSLC Link Name Space URI, and the OSLC Domain Name are not exported.
Results
The Export Workspace page displays a Download the workspace link that can be clicked to download the exported workspace. The Export Workspace page also displays the list of exported modules and the number of elements in each module.
What to do next
If element IDs of attributes such as Choice Item and Views are used in a business rule, you must update the IDs in the business rule after importing the workspace.
