To upgrade from Focal Point 6.6.x to the latest version, complete the following steps:
Before you begin
1 Back up the database and any custom business rules.
2 Back up the following files: fp.property, server.startup.bat, server.shutdown.bat
When you upgrade from Focal Point 6.6.x, these files are upgraded without any option to backup. After the upgrade, the administrator can reapply the custom settings by referring to the backed up files.
If you are using a version of software that is no longer supported, you must upgrade to a version that is compatible with Focal Point, see System requirements.
4 If you are using an IBM DB2 or Oracle database, make sure that you created the database tables with the specified table space names for Focal Point.
5 Download the installation package.
6 Make sure that the Focal Point application server machine can communicate with the database server machine.
