Delegated resource creation dialog
Use the delegated resource creation dialog to create and link to Focal Point artifacts from the OSLC consumer applications.
Before you begin
Make sure you have a valid Focal Point license to use the delegated resource creation dialog to create and link to Focal Point artifacts.
Procedure
1 In Focal Point, create a Consumer (Inbound) and Friends (Outbound) entry for the OSLC consumer application.
For an example, see Configuring Focal Point as a provider to CLM applications.
2 Provide the Focal Point user name and password, when prompted for authentication.
The OSLC consumer application can find the delegated resource creation dialog through Focal Point root services, provider catalog, and service descriptor details.
3 In the Add Link dialog box, select Create New to create a Focal Point artifact, and then click OK.
The Delegated resource creation dialog box appears.
4 Click Pick View.
The Add views for which the user has access in Focal Point are listed.
5 Select an add view from the list, and then click OK.
Tip Use keyword search to select the view.
6 Provide the details for the new artifact, and then click OK.
The details to be provided differ based on the selected view.
Integer, Float, Text, Choice, Multichoice, Check box, Date and Heading are the supported attribute types.
Results
A new Focal Point artifact is created from the OSLC consumer application. The artifact link is listed in the OSLC consumer application.
Note To create a back link in RFP, you need to define the integration link attribute with the back link type URI as the property URI. Examples:
In IBM Rational Requirements Composer, to create a back link for the “Referenced by” project area association, define an integration link attribute with is property URI:
http://purl.org/dc/terms/references
In the Requirements Management application, to create a back link for the “Implement Requirement” project area association, define an integration link attribute with this property URI:
http://open-services.net/ns/rm#implementedBy
What to do next
You can preview the artifact from the OSLC consumer application through the rich hover feature. You can navigate to the Focal Point artifacts from the consumer application by clicking the link to the artifact.
