Quanvert multiprojects
The Quanvert DSC supports Quanvert multiprojects. This means that you can analyze Quanvert multiprojects in UNICOM Intelligence Reporter or InterviewReporter (if you have the Accelerator Kit version of InterviewReporter). Similarly, you can use a Data Management Script (DMS) file to export data from a Quanvert multiproject.
The Quanvert multiproject feature enables you to analyze together the data in separate but related Quanvert projects. Quanvert multiprojects are made up of two or more projects (generally called subprojects but sometimes referred to as waves). When you create a multiproject in Quanvert, you specify the projects you want to include in the multiproject, the master subproject, and the folder in which the multiproject is to be created. (If you do not specify a master subproject, the last subproject in the alphabetical list of subprojects is taken to be the master.) Quanvert then creates the multiproject in the specified folder without changing the subprojects in any way.
Tip: When you combine projects to create a multiproject in Quanvert, make sure that your sub projects and your multiproject all share the same parent-level folder. Quanvert will then store the paths of the projects internally as relative paths instead of absolute paths. Then, as long as you keep the same relative position of your multiproject and your sub projects, you can easily move your multiproject and your sub projects to another location.
To load a multiproject using Quanvert DSC (for example, in UNICOM Intelligence Reporter), browse to the folder in which the multiproject was created and select the qvinfo file in the normal way.
Note For large Quanvert multiprojects, you can obtain much better performance in UNICOM Intelligence Reporter (or any other application that uses the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model to read the metadata) by creating an MDM document (.mdd) file first and then using that file to load the project. The DDL includes an mrScriptBasic script named CreateMddFromQuanvert.mrs, which you can use to create a .mdd file for your Quanvert project. For more information, see Sample mrScriptBasic files. Do not use Metadata Model Explorer or mdmqvgen2.exe to create an .mdd file for a multiproject, as the metadata will include Quanvert.Ex variables and these cause errors in UNICOM Intelligence Reporter.
When Quanvert DSC reads a Quanvert multiproject, it creates a version in the MDM document for each subproject in the multiproject. The master subproject becomes the most recent version in the MDM document. If you look at this version, you will see only the variables that were defined in the master subproject. If any of the subprojects contain any variables or categories that are not also in the master subproject, they will not be visible. However, if you look at the superversion, you will be able to see and access a superset of all of the variables and categories that exist in all of the subprojects.
The case data is available for all of the subprojects. Quanvert automatically creates a project categorical variable when it creates a multiproject. This variable has a category for each subproject in the multiproject, and you can use this variable to show which subproject each case belongs to and to filter the case data by the subproject.
For more information on Quanvert multiprojects, see the Quanvert User's Guide.
Note Quanvert DSC does not support packed multiprojects. For more information, see Packed Quanvert projects.
