Interviewing
The interviewer is responsible for synchronizing project files to the mobile device, interviewing respondents, and then synchronizing data back to the server cluster.
A project is synchronized to a user’s device only when the following criteria are met:
▪The project is configured as a personal project and is not expired.
▪The project status is set to Active (not Test or Inactive).
▪The interviewer was provided access to the project through the User Administration activity.
▪The interviewer must be assigned sample records when sample is used for the project.
Efficient interviewing of respondents might require the management of sample, participant, and quota information to obtain the required number and type of completes in the shortest time frame. UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Offline for Windows provides these features:
▪initiating and tracking synchronization
▪managing projects
▪listing and filtering available (if sample is used) in progress, and complete interviews
▪viewing quota information (if available)
▪interviewing respondents.
Your mobile application might want to provide similar user interfaces.
UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin provides the Remote Administration activity that provides field managers an interface to monitor interviewer progress. The activity relies on synchronization to ensure that relevant content is available, regardless of which personal interviewing system is used.
Because the Partially Connected and Connected options are web interviewing options, interviewing is initiated by using a URL from one of the following channels:
▪email
▪other messages to the respondent (social media)
▪web pages.
Your respondents can use the browser directly, or you can build an application that includes an embedded browser with other management tools.
Data management and analysis
The UNICOM Intelligence product suite includes applications that can be used to merge, clean, and analyze data. These applications are used in the same way regardless of the interviewing method.
