Entering a text response
A Text question allows for entry of alpha, numeric, and punctuation within a response string. Text responses have variable lengths depending on the maximum size programmed by the survey author. Some text responses can contain many characters. Text questions are effective for capturing qualitative data, commonly referred to as open-ended data or verbatims.
Entering a text response
1 Enter the response in the Entry Panel.
2 Press Enter or click Next to confirm the response and advance the Data Entry Player to the next variable.
Note The Enter key does not create new lines within the Entry Panel. All data must be entered consecutively for an individual variable. Pressing Enter advances the Data Entry Player to the next variable for keying.
Text data can be entered according to the needs of individual operations for the use of case sensitivity (capitalization) and punctuation marks. UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer does not include the capability to spell-check text responses that are keyed into the Data Entry Player's Entry Panel.
