Categorical is the general term for a single-choice or multiple-choice response. When you define a categorical question, you define the responses from which choices may be made, and the number of choices that will be allowed.

This section introduces the following keywords that you can use in the metadata section when defining categorical responses:

categorical	Identifies a categorical question
exclusive	A single-choice response in a multiple choice list
namespace	Make 'duplicate' responses unique
