Using the Library
The UNICOM Intelligence Library feature provides options for supporting the various sample library items that are installed with the application. The Library pane allows you to browse library items in a simple tree format, and add items to your projects. The library items are organized by type and function:
Functionality
Code snippets that can perform specific tasks such as adding a GoTo button, hiding the Previous button, remove a page header, and so on.
Questions
Question templates that determine the appearance of questions and their responses on an interview page.
Survey fragments
Survey fragments are commonly used questionnaire segments. For example, a common fragment could ask specific questions regarding your address (street number and name, city, state or province, and so on).
Templates
Layout templates that control the overall survey appearance such as question positions, navigation buttons, banners, color scheme, and so on.
Accessing the Library pane
The Library pane can be accessed via the View menu: View > Library
The Library pane can also be accessed by using the keyboard shortcut Alt+F2, of by clicking the
Library icon
on the View toolbar, as shown below:
Inserting items from the Library pane
1 Select a location in the script window in which to insert the library item.
2 Select the Library option from the View toolbar of use the Alt+F2 keyboard shortcut. The Library pane displays.
3 Select the appropriate item from Library pane and click Insert. The Insert Library Asset dialog displays.
Note If the selected library item is a questionnaire wizard, you will be prompted to complete the wizard steps prior to inserting the item.
4 Select the appropriate dialog options.
Language: The list provides all languages supported by the gallery item. Select the appropriate language.
Contexts: The list contains all available survey contexts. The contexts define how the metadata will be used. For example, the Paper context indicates that the survey will be used with the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper application.
Insert Metadata: When selected, the library item is inserted into to the active script.
5 The library item displays at the selected insertion point.
