Enabling detailed error messages in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Due to a change in the way errors are reported in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), you might need to manually enable the Detailed Errors setting for specific UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server web service (for example, mrIEngWS) error pages in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. This is required in order to properly report errors back to the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server web tier. The following steps further explain the process:
1 On the interview tier servers, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and select the appropriate UNICOM Intelligence web service (for example, Sites > Default Web Site > mrIEngWS). The selected web service’s features display in IIS.
2 Double-click Error Pages (under HTTP Features). The Error Pages feature lists the various status codes for each error page.
3 Click Edit Feature Settings (in the Actions pane). The Edit Error Pages Settings dialog displays.
4 If not already enabled, select Detailed errors.
5 Click OK.
6 Repeat these steps for each UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server web service (for example, mrIEngWS1, mrIEngWS2, and so on).
Notes
The change to error reporting was made in to address the potential security risk when detailed error information is made available remotely.
