Creating the Installing User and Running User
UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server must be installed by a user with local administrative rights. This user must have SQL DB Creator permission on the Database server while the installation is running, in order to create or update the main UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server databases. Once the installation is finished you may remove this right.
The UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server servers and services must be run by a user with the same rights as the Installing User, but this user must also have the 'Log on as a service' and 'Log on as a batch job' options set. This user does not require SQL DB Creator rights.
Although you can use the same user account for both the Installing and the Running User, we recommend creating a new user account on each server that is used specifically for running UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server. This maintains any existing security that you have in place and ensures that there will be no problems if the local administrator password is changed.
Installing on computers in a workgroup
If you are installing on computers in a workgroup, you must create the Installing and Running Users on all computers in the workgroup that will run UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server services. The user and group names should match exactly across all computers as some operating systems can be case sensitive.
Installing on computers in a domain
If you are installing UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server on computers in a domain, create the accounts for the Installing and Running Users as domain accounts and then give those accounts the appropriate local access on each of the servers on which UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server will be installed.
Using computers in different domains
If you are using computers in different domains, the Installing and Running Users must be visible and trusted in all those domains. Both Users must also have permission to create databases on the computer hosting the Database Service.
To create the users
See Creating the installing and running users (single computer installations) and Creating the installing and running users (domain installations).
