Upgrading an installation
You can upgrade an existing installation. Refer to the release notes for the target version of UNICOM Intelligence Server, for rules and limitations that are specific to the current and target versions for the upgrade.
Once the installation has been upgraded, refer to the configuration files that were backed up by the installation process. Web.config and other files that were overwritten by the upgrade process should be compared for differences and the appropriate settings applied. For example, you may have changed settings for SSL support and you will find that your cluster does not work until those settings have been reapplied.
Configuration files are backed up to the following location:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\version\Backup\UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin version_date_time
where:
version is a single digit representing the version that is being installed. For example, for version 7.0, 7.0.1, and 7.5 the digit would be 7.
version_date_time is the time that the backup was performed.
The backup files should not be used to overwrite the new versions of the configuration files as new settings might have been added. Instead, compare the files for differences and reapply any appropriate settings that were configured for the previous installation.
