RTrim
Returns a copy of a string with any trailing spaces removed.
Syntax
RTrim(Val)
Parameters
Val
Type: Text
Text value from which you want to remove trailing spaces.
(return)
Type: Text
Copy of Val with trailing spaces removed.
Remarks
RTrim removes white space (such as space and tab characters) that appears at the end of the input string. RTrim uses the rules of the input locale when interpreting white space.
If the current data value is NULL, Val is "" and the return value is "".
How you specify a text string as an argument depends on whether you are using the function in an SQL query or in mrScriptBasic or mrScriptMetadata. In an SQL query, enclose text strings in single quotation marks ' '. In mrScriptBasic or mrScriptMetadata, enclose text strings in double quotation marks " ".
Example
This example uses the RTrim function to return a copy of the contents of the address variable with any trailing spaces removed:
address.RTrim()
