Setting up the SAV Employee data project
This topic describes how to create a UNICOM Intelligence Reporter - Survey Tabulation project that uses the Employee Data sample IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file.
To do this, you need to have access permissions for creating UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin projects and using the Manage Files activity.
These instructions do not include creating an .
mdd file for use in the project, because the Employee Data sample is very small. Creating an .
mdd file is recommended when the .
sav file contains a large number of variables. See

1 On the toolbar at the top of the
My Projects list, click the New Project button
.
This opens the New Project dialog box.
2 From the Project Type list, select Analyze existing data.
3 In the Name text box, enter the project’s name as you want it to appear in the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin project list, for example, Employee Data. This name is for display purposes only and can be changed at any time during the project's life cycle.
4 In the Description text box, enter a more detailed description of the project.
5 Click OK. The project is created using the default settings, and the Upload Existing Data dialog appears.
6 In the Data Type list, select IBM SPSS Statistics File (SAV).
7 Click Browse and in the Choose File dialog box, browse to the location where the browse to the location where the Employee Data .sav file is located. By default, this is:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\ Data\Sav
8 Select the Employee data.sav file. The file begins to upload immediately. When the upload is complete, the name of the file appears in the File(s) uploaded list.
