SPSS Statistics SAV DSC
The SPSS Statistics SAV DSC has the following capabilities:
Read case data and metadata from an IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file. This capability is used when you open a .sav file in UNICOM Intelligence Reporter, for example.
Write case data to an IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file, for analysis in IBM SPSS Statistics. This capability is used when you use Data Management Scripting to export UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer data to a .sav file, for example. This also creates an XML file, which contains additional information that can be used when analyzing the data using SPSS WebApp.
Update an existing IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file. Typically, you use this capability to add weights to a .sav file. This capability is also used when you use UNICOM Intelligence Professional to write interview response data to a .sav file for testing purposes.
Creates a UNICOM Intelligence metadata document from an IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file.
Compressed .zav files
The SPSS Statistics SAV DSC can also read and write .zsav files. These files are compressed by using the IBM SPSS Statistics keyword, ZCOMPRESSED. Files compressed with this compression type occupy the least disk space. For more information about ZCOMPRESSED, see the IBM SPSS Statistics documentation.
