Metadata Model to Quantum shortcut menu
Right-click in the Metadata Model to Quantum window after selecting one or more variables to use these commands:
Edit Question
Opens the Manual Allocation dialog (see Allocating card, column, and punch Codes manually). This command is only available when you right-click after selecting a single variable.
Increment Card
Prompts you for a value to add to the card start number for each of the selected variables. Enter a negative number if you want to reduce the card start numbers. When you click OK, Metadata Model to Quantum updates the variables accordingly. However, Metadata Model to Quantum does not check whether the resulting allocations duplicate existing allocations. You might therefore want to run Check Cols and Punches (see Checking the card, column, and punch definitions. Increment Card is not available for system variables.
Change Columns
Reallocates the card and column values for each of the selected variables, starting from a specified starting column number that you enter. The starting column number is the combined card and column number that you want Metadata Model to Quantum to allocate to the first variable in the selection. When you click OK, Metadata Model to Quantum reallocates card and columns to each of the selected variables in sequence, starting from the specified value. However, Metadata Model to Quantum does not check whether the resulting allocations duplicate existing allocations. You might therefore want to run Check Cols and Punches (see Checking the card, column, and punch definitions. Change Columns is not available for system variables.
Allocate Question(s)
Allocates the selected questions to avoid allocating duplicate values for shared lists.
Clear Cols and Punches
Removes card and column values from each of the selected variables. If any of the variables share a category list with any other variables (for example, because the variable is part of a loop or a grid or uses a defined list), this option removes the punch and column offset details from the categories on those other variables too. However, Metadata Model to Quantum will warn you first and give you an option to cancel the operation.
Metadata Model to Quantum cannot remove card, column, and punch definitions that were allocated in UNICOM Intelligence Data Model 2.4 or earlier or by older products (such as Quanquest 2.3) from a locked version of the questionnaire definition. If old-style allocations are present in the selected variables and you are working on the most recent version and it is locked, Metadata Model to Quantum will give you the option of creating a new version and entering a description for it. If you are working on a previous locked version, you will not be able to clear the old allocations from that version. For more information, see Clearing old-style card, column, and punch definitions.
Shortcut menu in the Manual Allocation dialog
The Manual Allocation dialog (see Allocating card, column, and punch Codes manually) also has a shortcut menu. This contains one command, Increment Column Offset. This prompts you for a value to add to the column offset for each of the selected elements. Enter a negative number if you want to reduce the column offset. When you click OK, Metadata Model to Quantum updates the elements accordingly.
