Metadata Model Compare
Metadata Model Compare is an accessory supplied with the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model that you can use to compare two UNICOM Intelligence metadata documents (also known as Questionnaire Definitions or Interview Scripts). The metadata documents can either be two separate .mdd files or can be different versions or superversions of the same .mdd file.
All fields in the two metadata documents are compared. You can also specify which items in the languages, contexts, label types, and routing-contexts collections you want to compare. For example, you can compare only the base language, or all languages.
How Metadata Model Compare works
When you click the Compare button, Metadata Model Compare uses the UNICOM Intelligence
mrScript MDSC (Metadata Source Component) to convert the Fields collections in the two metadata documents into two plain-text script files. The scripts include:
▪field labels, category labels, and custom property definitions for the languages, contexts, and label types that you selected in the Metadata Model Compare window
▪the routing scripts for any routing contexts that you selected.
Metadata Model Compare then compares the two script files by running a third-party file compare tool.
Third-party file compare tools
To use Metadata Model Compare, you must have a third-party file compare tool installed on your computer. Metadata Model Compare has been successfully tested with these tools:
You might also be able to use other file compare tools with Metadata Model Compare.
