Sample data
By default, the sample data is installed in:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\Data
This folder contains the following subfolders:
UNICOM Intelligence File
This contains samples that consist of UNICOM Intelligence metadata document (.mdd) files and UNICOM Intelligence Data File (.ddf) case data files. The samples are as follows:
Museum. This is based on a survey of visitors to a museum. The case data is stored in two formats—hierarchical HDATA tables and a single flat VDATA table. Although originally created from the Quanvert database, this has had the Quanvert-specific information removed. System variables, additional labels (such as short names and instruction texts), Japanese and Spanish translations, and UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper routing information have also been added. This sample comes with a Word document called Museum.doc, which is a paper questionnaire that shows the routing used to collect the data. You need to have the Japanese language installed on your computer to view the Japanese texts.
Household. This is a hierarchical example that contains unbounded loops and grids. For more information, see The Household sample.
Short Drinks. UNICOM Intelligence Data File version of the Short Drinks sample. For more information, see The Short Drinks sample.
Trips. UNICOM Intelligence Data File version of the Trips sample. For more information, see The Trips sample.
Merge data sets. These samples are used to demonstrate the merging of multiple data sets into a single data set. For more information, see Examples of merging case data.
Japanese Data
This contains data sets that are used to demonstrate the merging of multibyte data sets. For more information, see Merging Japanese (multibyte) data sources.
Mdd
This contains:
Two versions of the Museum sample questionnaire: museum_qq.mdd (authored in Quancept) and museum_i2f.mdd (authored in In2form Designer).
A shorter questionnaire about drinking habits (short_drinks.mdd). This was used to collect the case data that is supplied as a sample RDB database and as a UNICOM Intelligence Data File. This .mdd file has five versions. This folder also contains two Word documents that are paper questionnaires based on the first and fifth versions in the .mdd file. For more information, see The Short Drinks sample.
QDIDRS
The Museum sample in the standard Quancept QDI/DRS format.
Quantum
This folder contains the Skidemo data (.dat) file and an associated questionnaire definition (.mdd) file that together can be used to demonstrate the read capability of the Quantum DSC. For more information, see Sample Quantum data in the UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library.
Quanvert
The Museum and Household samples as Quanvert databases.
RDB
The Short Drinks sample in the form of a SQL Server backup of the relational MR (RDB) database. Note that you need SQL Server Client Tools to use this database. For more information, see The Short Drinks sample.
Sav
A sample IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file called Employee data.sav.
Surveycraft
The Museum and Household samples as Surveycraft databases.
Triple-S
The Museum and Skidemo samples as Triple-S metadata and case data files.
XML
Sample data sets that consist of a Metadata Document (.mdd) file and case data in XML format. The folder contains versions of the Museum and The Household sample sample data sets.
If you are a non-administrator Windows user and you intend to open a sample metadata document (.mdd) file using the Metadata Model to Quantum, Metadata Model Version Utility, or MDM Label Manager accessories, you must copy (not move) the .mdd file to a folder in which you are permitted to create files and then open the new file. If you try to open the original file, an "Access isdenied" error message appears.
