Starting the CDSC test tool

Before using can use the CDSC test tool

1 Manually register CDSCProperties.dll.

To start the CDSC test tool

1 In Windows Explorer, browse to the folder where the Visual Basic source code was installed. (Typically this is:

[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\Code\DSCs\Test Tools

2 Double-click CDSC.vbp.

The CDSC test tool project opens in Visual Basic.

3 From the Run menu, choose Start.

The CDSC Test window opens.

To open data in the CDSC Test window using your CDSC

1 From the File menu, choose Initialize CDSC.

The Data Link Properties dialog opens.

2 Enter the Metadata Type and Location.

3 From the Case Data Type list, select your CDSC.

4 Enter the Case Data Location, either by typing the name and location of the data into the text box, or by clicking Browse.

5 On the Advanced and All tabs, enter any other connection properties that you require.

6 Click OK.
