Access to sample management and case data information
Participant (sample) records and case data are two of the most sensitive areas of a project, so you probably want to protect them against unauthorized access.
Sample management scripts are also sensitive, but for a different reason: they have the potential to provide unauthorized access to UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer files and databases because they contain statements that read those files.
Sample data
You can control who has access to the servers that store your sample data. You can also restrict access to databases and individual tables by UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin role name so that, for example, all users who work on projects for customer A and are part of the CustomerA role can access the sample for customer A's projects but not for any other customer. To control who can see the values that are in specific fields, for example, personal information such as phone numbers or email addresses, you can encrypt the values. For more information, see Restricting access to specific participant fields.
Sample management scripts
Most users need only the ability to select the sample management script that will be used for their projects, so you can restrict editing permission to only users who need to be able to change scripts. For more information, see Controlling access to sample management scripts.
Case data
Some UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer activities provide access to the case data for analysis, review, or export purposes. Set the permissions on these activities to control who has access to the case data. For more information, see Controlling access to case data.
You can also define additional restrictions for the Launch activity so that you can control which users can create new databases, and which users can activate projects using each database. For more information, see Project (case data) databases.
Recovering ACTIVE sample records
Records should be in the ACTIVE queue only when an interview is occurring. However, participant/sample records can sometimes remain in the ACTIVE queue when Microsoft Internet Information Services or one of the UNICOM Intelligence services stops unexpectedly. These records cannot be restarted by Web respondents, and can be retrieved by phone interviewers only if the participant identifier is known (which makes these records unusable).
