Using the Scheduled Task wizard to schedule a DMS File
You can schedule a DMS file to be run later or at regular intervals using the Scheduled Task wizard. This topic provides step-by-step instructions. For further information, refer to the Windows documentation.
1 From the Windows Start menu, choose Settings > Control Panel.
2 In the Control Panel, choose Scheduled Tasks, and then double-click Add Scheduled Task.
The Scheduled Task wizard opens.
3 Click Next.
This opens a list of some of the programs installed on your computer.
4 Click Browse and browse to the folder in which DMS Runner is installed. Typically this is:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\<version> DMOM\version
5 Select DMSRun.exe, and then click Open.
6 Optionally, enter a name for the task and then select when you want the task to be run.
7 Click Next.
8 Select the required time and start date, and when you want the task to be run, and then click Next.
9 Enter your user name and password, and then click Next.
10 Select Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish, and then click Finish.
11 In the Run box, enter the name of the DMS file you want to run. Put the name of the DMS file after the DMSRun.exe filename and location. If the name includes spaces, enclose it in " " (quotation marks).
12 Enter the location of the DMS file in the Start In box. If the location includes spaces, enclose it in " " (quotation marks).
13 Select Enabled (scheduled task runs at specified time).
14 Select the Schedule tab, and then select the options you require. For more options. click Advanced. Click OK.
The new task appears in the Scheduled Tasks window.
