Variable Preview pane
The Variable Preview pane provides you with a summary of the information that is available in a variable, without the need to add it to a table.
To display the Variable Preview pane, click View > Variable Preview, or press Alt+9.
You can display variable previews for the following types of variable:
▪categorical variables (displayed in a chart or table)
▪numeric variables (displayed in a table)
▪text variables (displayed in a table)
▪categorical grid variables (displayed in a table).
You can generate previews for selected variables or for all variables.
Displaying variable previews
The variable preview is displayed on request for variables that you select. Once you have requested a preview for a variable, it is available in subsequent sessions of UNICOM Intelligence Reporter.
If the data in your survey data file changes, the preview is not updated.
Generating a variable preview for selected variables
1 Select a variable in the Variables pane, or use Shift+click or Ctrl+click to select multiple variables.
2 Right-click, and then click Generate Variable Preview.
3 Select an individual variable to display the preview.
Generating a variable preview for all variables
1 Click Variables > Generate Variable Preview.
2 Choose Generate preview for all variables.
3 Select an individual variable to display the preview.
