Example: Band numeric by percentile wizard
The provided Band numeric by percentile wizard can be used to band a numeric variable based on a specified percentile. You could manually add these by creating a new derived categorical variable (with suitable axis expression), but UNICOM Intelligence Reporter provides a wizard example that simplifies the task.
1 Select the numeric variable for which you want to create banding from the Variables Folders pane.
2 Navigate to the Library pane: click View > Library.
3 In the Library pane, expand the Wizards node and select the Band numeric by percentile wizard.
4 Click Run.
5 In the Band numeric by percentile wizard, enter the banding percentiles, and then click Next. A new derived variable is created at the bottom of the list of variables in the Variable pane.
6 You can add the new derived variable to the table and then click F5 to populate the table.
The new variable creates bandings that are based on the percentiles specified in the Band numeric by percentile wizard.
