UNICOM Intelligence Data Merge: Specify Output File pane
Use this pane to specify the file name and path of the file that will contain the merged data, and details that are required by different types of output file.
Variable description language
Select the language in which you want variable and category descriptions to be available in the merged file. The list shows all of the languages that are available in the first survey data file that you selected.
Export format
Select the file format for the output file containing the merged data:
▪IBM SPSS Statistics File (SAV)
▪Delimited Text File (CSV)
▪UNICOM Intelligence Data File
▪Quantum Data File (DAT)
▪Triple-S Data File (Fixed or CSV)
▪UNICOM Intelligence XML Data File
File name
Enter a file name and path for the output file.
If you specify an existing file, the file and it contents will be overwritten.
The remaining sections of this pane are specific to the export format you have selected:
IBM SPSS Statistics File (SAV)
If you are exporting data to IBM SPSS Statistics .SAV format for use with versions of IBM SPSS Statistics prior to version 12, select Use SPSS SAV short file names to export variable names with a maximum length of eight characters.
Quantum Data File (DAT)
If you are exporting data into a Quantum DAT file format, set these properties:
Width of serial number
Type the number of columns to reserve for the respondent serial number. The default is 5.
Width of card number
Type the number of columns to reserve for the card number. The default is 2.
Max card length
Type the maximum number of columns to write per card. The default is 80. Leave this field blank for an infinite card length.
Full name of serial variable
Specify the name of the variable that contains the respondent serial numbers. In survey data files created by UNICOM Intelligence products this variable is called Respondent.Serial; in files from other sources it might have another name, for example, Serial.
