Distributing a configuration file to multiple users
The Configuration Wizard generates the configuration file InterviewPlayer.config based on the user provided settings. As an administrator, you might want to generate a single configuration file for use across multiple remote computers. This eliminates the need for each user to individually configure UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer through the Configuration Wizard, thus simplifying setup and reducing the potential for errors.
To create and distribute a configuration file
1 Start the Configuration Wizard.
2 Enter the configuration settings to be used across multiple computers.
The Configuration Wizard generates the
InterviewPlayer.config configuration file based on what you enter. For more information, see
Configuration Wizard interface.
3 Copy the InterviewPlayer.config file to each computer that will use the configuration you generated. By default, the InterviewPlayer.config file is in the following folder:
[Common Application Data Folder]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\Interviewer
Notes
▪[Common Application Data Folder] is a shared location for all users.
For example, on Windows 7 and later, the InterviewPlayer.config is in:
C:\ProgramData\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\Interviewer
▪Changes made to the server cluster configuration in InterviewPlayer.config are applied to the site configuration the next time that either the Interviewer Console or the Synchronization Console are run. When a server cluster is removed, it is removed only if it does not include any projects. Otherwise, the server cluster is flagged as offline and is not removed from the system. This is because there might be un-synchronized project data in the removed cluster. Offline server clusters can be selected when signing into UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer; this provides access to imported offline projects.
HTMLDocType and HTMLOptions custom properties
You can change the HTMLOption and Doctype settings in the InterviewPlayer.config file that is in:
[Common Application Data Folder]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\Interviewer
For more information about custom properties, see
HTMLDocType and HTMLOptions custom properties.
