Modifying mark fields
Mark fields are where respondents or interviewers indicate the selection of a category (or categories) in answer to a categorical or grid question. You can create mark fields in several ways:
▪category names, keycodes, or punch characters that are circled
▪symbols, such as boxes or circles that are checked. You can use the same symbol for both single response categories and multiple response categories, or you can use a different symbol for each type.
▪a combination of symbols and values where the symbols are checked
▪a border around the table cell.
