Working with UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server data
When you conduct surveys using UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server, the response data is stored in a relational MR (RDB) database as it is collected and the questionnaire definition is stored in a Metadata Document (.mdd) file. When you use a DMS file to export the response data to other formats, you generally use the .mdd file as the input metadata source for the transfer. However, the questionnaire definition (.mdd) file for a project is in several locations as follows:
the FMRoot\Shared folder on the File Management server
the FMRoot\Master folder on the File Management server
the Projects folder on each interview tier computer.
Generally, you should use the .mdd file that is in the FMRoot\Shared folder as the input metadata source when you use a DMS file to transfer your UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server case data. However, this is not reflected in the examples in this section. This is because the examples use the Short Drinks sample that comes with the UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library and which is installed by default into the standard location within the Program Files folder.
This section provides information about how to export UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server data to other formats. In this section, the .mdd file to be used as the input metadata source is assumed to be the .mdd file that is in the FMRoot\Shared folder, except when specified otherwise.
Much of the information in this section also applies to data collected using UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add-on and stored in a relational MR database. However, UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add-on does not set the DataCollection.Status, DataCollection.StartTime, or DataCollection.FinishTime system variables.
Sample DMS files
The UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library has some sample DMS files that demonstrate exporting UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server data. The sample files use the Short Drinks sample database; you can change them to run with any multiversion project. For more information, see Sample DMS files for exporting UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer data.
