How can I check my DMS file without running it?
Use
DMS Runner with the
/norun option. This will check that the syntax of the file is correct without running it. A message will be displayed for each error that is found. However, there are some errors that cannot be detected until you actually run the file.
I am trying to run a DMS file that contains Japanese characters, but the Japanese characters are not recognized. What can I do?
Make sure that you save your DMS file using the Unicode or UTF-8 text format option and not the ANSI option. After you have done this, you should be able to run your file in the normal way.
Is there any way of stopping DMS Runner part way through a DMS file?
You can stop the execution of a DMS file by pressing Ctrl-C. However, note that when you do this, any output that has been generated is likely to be corrupt or unusable.
When I run a DMS file that transfers data to Quantum, I always get two warnings, but the transfer seems to run OK. Why is this
When UNICOM Intelligence Professional validates the DMS file, it tests the connection to the Quantum .dat file. Quantum DSC always gives a warning because the validation is performed before the output metadata has been created and without a metadata source Quantum DSC cannot function. This is because Quantum DSC relies on the card, column, and punch definitions in the metadata. You can safely ignore these warnings.
Is there a scheduling option in UNICOM Intelligence Professional that let's you run a DMS file at a certain date and time?
UNICOM Intelligence Professional does not have a specific feature for doing this. However, you can use the At command or the Windows Scheduled Task wizard to schedule the execution of DMS files. See
