Installing UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library
Important
If you have installed an earlier version of the UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library, remove it before installing the new version. For more information, see Removing UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library.
If you do not have Visual C++ 6.0 installed, the installation program will not install the Visual C++ CDSC wizard. However, this will not affect the rest of your installation. If you subsequently install Visual C++ 6.0, you can install the Visual C++ CDSC wizard by following the instructions in Modifying the installation.
UNICOM Intelligence Developer Documentation Library is available as a separate installation in the installation package of these products: UNICOM Intelligence Desktop; UNICOM Intelligence Server; UNICOM Intelligence Data Entry.
To install from a downloaded file
1 Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a new folder.
2 Go to the folder, and then double-click the UNICOM Intelligence Developer Library.exe file.
3 On the Welcome page, click Next.
4 On the License Agreement page, read the license agreement. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
5 In the Customer Information page, enter your user name and your organization’s name, and then click Next.
6 In the Setup Type page, choose one of the following:
Typical: Install the documentation and all of the tools and samples into the default location.
Complete: Install the documentation and all of the tools and samples into the default location.
Custom: Specify exactly what to install and where it is to be installed.
7 Click Next.
8 If you chose the Custom installation, select the options that you want to install in the Custom Setup page. To specify where the files will be installed, click Change. Then click Next.
The Setup wizard is now ready to start the installation.
9 Click Install.
Opening the documentation
To open the documentation in a browser, go to http://localhost:40880/index.html.
The default port is 40880. To use a different port, change the following setting in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\SPSS Data Collection\7.0\Common\UIHelpServicePort
