Adding or removing instances from a server
The Cluster Editor utilities cannot be used to add or remove instances from a server. The following steps must be used when you add or remove an UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin instance, web instance, or engine:
1 Remove the server from the cluster with the Command line Cluster Editor utility (ClusterEditor.exe) or ClusterEditorUI.exe utility.
2 Update the site preparation file, with the new number of instances, with Command line Cluster Editor or ClusterEditorUI.exe. When you use ClusterEditor.exe, you must manually update the server configuration file.
3 Prepare the server against the separate, single computer cluster, or see Changed DPM settings for instructions on preparing directly against the target server.
4 Restart the UNICOM Intelligence server installation with the Modify option.
5 Detach the server from the separate, single computer cluster.
6 Add the server to the cluster: see Method 2: Adding a prepared UNICOM Intelligence server.
