Creating the installing and running users (single computer installations)
1 Open the Windows Control Panel, and then click Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
The Computer Management window opens.
2 Expand Local Users and Groups, right-click Users, and then click New User.
The New User dialog opens.
3 Enter the details for the Installing User. Click Create, and then click Close.
The password must not include single or double quotation marks or a backslash.
4 In the Tree frame, click Groups.
5 In the right frame, right-click Administrators, and then click Add to Group.
The Administrator Properties dialog opens.
6 Click Add.
The Users or Groups dialog opens.
7 In the list of names, click the user name you have just created, and then click Add.
8 Click OK to close the Users or Groups dialog, and then close the Computer Management window.
9 Open the Control Panel, and then click Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy.
The Local Security Settings window opens.
10 In the Tree frame, expand Local Policies, and then click User Rights Assignment.
11 In the right frame, double-click Log on as a service. This allows the user to run services.
The Log on as a service Properties dialog opens.
12 Click Add.
13 In the list of names, click the user name you created earlier, and then click Add.
14 Click OK to close the Select Users or Groups dialog, and then click OK again to return to the Local Security Settings window.
15 In the right frame, double-click Log on as a batch job. This allows the user to run a service that itself starts another application or service.
The Log on as a batch job Properties dialog opens.
16 Click Add.
17 In the list of names, click the user name you created earlier, and then click Add.
18 Click OK to close the Select Users or Groups dialog, and then click OK again to return to the Local Security Settings window.
19 Close the Local Security Settings window.
20 Open your SQL administration program, and then grant the Installing User SYSADMIN authority. For example, if you have SQL Server Enterprise Manager, or SQL Server Management Studio, complete the following steps:
From the Windows Start menu, click Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Enterprise Manager or SQL Server Management Studio.
Expand the tree in the left frame until the contents of the Security node are visible for the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer database server, and then select Server Roles.
In the right frame, double-click System Administrators or sysadmin.
This Server Role Properties dialog opens.
Click Add. In the list of names, choose the user name you created earlier, and then click OK.
Click OK to close the Server Role Properties dialog, and then close Enterprise Manager/SQL Server Management Studio.
21 Repeat these steps, except the one to add SYSADMIN authority in SQL, to create the Running User account.
