Sample tables for personal interviewing projects
Sample tables for personal interviewing projects must also include the following columns. If they do not exist, they will be added automatically if you select Use sample for personal interviewing (see
Changing the mapping of a field to a required column), or if you activate the project using the “Use personal interviewing” option in the Launch activity.
AppointmentTime
The time at which the respondent asked to be interviewed.
AssignedInterviewerId
The interviewer user ID who can retrieve this record for personal interviewing.
Audit
A list of the changes that interviewers have made to this record.
CallOutcome
The contact outcome code for the previous contact to this record.
Comments
Additional information about the participant.
DistributedTo
The interviewer user ID, or IDs, who have received this record for personal interviewing.
ExpirationTime
Defines the participant record expiration date and time.
InterviewMode
How the record can be used: set to Web for web interviewing or Personal for personal interviewing.
PreviousInterviewerId
The interviewer who last retrieved the record. Used by the Sample Management script to return an appointment to the interviewer who arranged it.
PreviousQueue
The name of the queue in which the record was previously held.
ReturnTime
The time at which the record was returned to Sample Management.
Screener
Allows you to identify which respondents are the suitable candidates for the current survey. Screener questions are designed to filter respondents. If a respondent answers do not meet the Screener criteria, the respondent is not allowed to continue the survey, and the Screener field is recorded as Failed. If respondent answers meet the Screener criteria, they are allowed to continue the survey, and the Screener field is recorded as Passed.
SortId
This integer column can be used to define the order in which participant records are selected from the FRESH queue by the sample management system. This value can prove useful in personal interviewing when planning the contacts for the day as SortIds can be manually edited and then used for sorting in the Interviewer window to show the visit order.
TimeZone
The participant’s timezone.
UserId
The UserId of latest record in the history table for a specific sample.
Required columns
The participants text file does not need to contain information for all the required columns, as many of the columns are used only internally by the sample management system and will contain information only after a participant has been called. You must provide at least a value for the Id column. For telephone interviewing projects, provide a value for the PhoneNumber column, and, if you have participants in more than one time zone, you might want to provide a value for the TimeZone column.
Protected fields
Sample fields that are protected are sent to the client encrypted. Clients cannot decrypt those fields. Therefore, if the client needs to use a sample field, to show it to the interviewer for example, do not protect the field.
