Editing records
The View tab of the Participants activity allows you to change the value of any field in a participant record, with the exception of the Id field. You can edit either individual records or multiple records simultaneously.
To edit individual records
1 On the View tab, select the check box on the left of the record that you want to edit.
2 Click the Edit icon
in the top-right corner of the list of records.
The Edit dialog opens.
When you click a field, the pane at the bottom of the dialog indicates whether the column contains a text, numeric, or date value; for numeric columns, the minimum and maximum values; for text columns, the maximum length.
3 Change the values.
▪To change the value of a protected field, first click the “Unlock this field” icon.
▪Date values must be in one of these formats: yyyy-mm-dd, yyyy-mm-dd:hh:mi, or yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss. If you specify only the date, a time of 00:00:00 is assumed.
▪If you change the PhoneNumber field and your project uses modems or an autodialer to dial participants’ phone numbers, make sure that the new phone number is in the correct format and contains only valid characters. For more information, see
Mapping fields to required columns in the sample table.
▪To change a field to an empty value, select the check box under Set to Empty. The pane at the bottom of the dialog indicates what value will be used.
4 To save the changes, click OK.
To edit multiple records
If you select to edit all records, and the records span multiple pages, you can edit either all records on the current page or all records on all pages.
1 On the View tab, select the check box of the records that you want to edit. To edit all the records, select the check box on the left of the field names.
2 Click the Edit icon
in the top-right corner of the list of records.
The Edit dialog opens. Values are shown in the dialog only when the value is the same for all the records that you selected. If a value is not shown, it might indicate that the records have different values or that the field is empty in all the records that you selected.
3 Do one of the following:
▪To edit the records on the current page, select Apply edits to current page of records.
▪To edit all records on all pages, select Apply edits to all records returned by current filter.
4 Change the values, and then click OK.
