Server User Guides > Interviewer - Server > Publish Data > Metadata tab

Metadata tab
The Metadata tab provides options for defining the UNICOM Intelligence metadata and analysis variable (dimension and measure questions) information that is used when publishing data.
All questions are published if none are selected.
Metadata options
Metadata options are used to select specific languages, contexts, label types, and the single .mdd version for each .mdm document. When applied, the variables are refreshed according to the defined settings:
Language
The list provides all available languages that are currently defined for the selected UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer project. The selected language affects the published labels. Select the appropriate language.
Context
The list provides all available contexts that are currently defined for the selected UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer project. The context controls which texts are displayed. For example, select Question to display question texts, or Analysis to display shorter texts that are suitable for displaying when analyzing the data. Select the appropriate context.
Label type
The list provides all available label types that are currently defined for the selected UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer project. You should normally select the Label option. Select the appropriate label type.
System variables
Select one of these options:
All: All system variables are included in the Cognos package.
Common: Only common system variables are included in the Cognos package.
None: System variables are not included in the Cognos package.
Version
The list provides all available versions for the selected .mdd file. Select the appropriate project version.
The Advanced tab provides the option of selecting multiple versions. When multiple versions are selected in the Advanced tab, the Version list displays Multiple versions.
Include participant fields
When this option is selected, the sample data for projects with sample management will be exposed to Cognos.
Apply
Click the button to apply the selected metadata options.
Analysis variables
The table displays all variables for the selected UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer project. Whether the default type is set for each question or not depends on the DPM Property SetDefaultForQuestions (the default value is true) for the first publish. During subsequent publishing, question selection is set according to the latest status, which might be set by different user.
You can use the Restore Defaults or Clear All buttons to control the default type that is set for each question.
Derived questions, or other questions where HasCaseData is set as false, are not listed when selecting questions.
Scroll through the available UNICOM Intelligence variables and determine whether they should be categorized as Cognos dimension or measure variables.
Dimension. In Cognos parlance, a dimension is the short form of regular dimension, which represents descriptive data that provides context for data modeled in measure dimensions.
Measure. In Cognos parlance, a measure is short form for measure dimensions, which represent the quantitative data described by regular dimensions.
The following table shows the UNICOM Intelligence data type for common questions.
