Banding date variables
This example creates an axis based on the
DataCollection.FinishTime date system variable and uses the
Month function in custom expressions to automatically band the dates into categories based on the month.
This example is based on the Museum sample data set.
DataCollection.FinishTime{
January 'January' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 1'),
February 'February' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 2'),
March 'March' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 3'),
April 'April' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 4'),
May 'May' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 5'),
June 'June' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 6'),
July 'July' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 7'),
August 'August' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 8'),
September 'September' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 9'),
October 'October' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 10'),
November 'November' _
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 11'),
December 'December'_
expression('DataCollection.FinishTime.Month() = 12')}

Here is a table that has this axis on the side (a hide rule has been used to hide the all-zero rows):
