The objects in the DSC Registration component (mrdscreg2.dll) enumerate the available DSCs by checking the Registry for installed DSCs.

The IMDSCCapability interface has one new method (Transform) and one new property (Transform). See IMDSCCapability in the MDM Object Model Reference. These are provided to support a standard way of invoking components that modify MDM documents.

In order to support MDSCs that can write metadata in native formats and convert metadata to other in-memory formats such as a string containing a script, the IMDSCCapability interface now has four new methods (Load, Save, ConvertToMetadata, and ConvertToData) and one new property (CanConvert).
