Runtime tools : Service components : Host Access Manager : Overview

Overview
Host Access Manager provides modernization of mainframe access and control. It consolidates existing separated host connectors by unified APIs and configurations; it improves runtime efficiency through simplified APIs and connection pool on lightweight platforms; it also improves development efficiency by user friendly zero code tooling.
Host Access Manager has following advantages:
Unified APIs and configurations
It has unified host Access APIs and configurations for all types of mainframe systems and interfaces.
Cross Platform
Host Access Manager supports more application server platforms than old host connectors. Besides the traditional WAS platform, the lightweight platforms of Tomcat and WAS Liberty are supported as well.
Efficiency
With unified and simplified new APIs instead of process-heavy JCA connectors on lightweight platforms, and with a new connection pool, Host Access Manager improves performance for accessing host resources.
User Friendly
Development tooling is provided for configuration with zero code, making it easier for users to access host transactions and resources.
Extensibility
Besides typical pre-build connectors, new host access connectors can be included by extension.
