Cleaning a database directory
Quick reference
To clean a database directory when the database is no longer required, go to the database directory, and then type:
qvclean
More information
When you have finished with a Quanvert database, delete as many files as possible to save disk space. qvclean is a variant of quclean and flipclean, which deletes all the files which make up a database.
The Windows version of qvclean has a standard list of files that it tries to delete, and does not test whether a file exists before trying to delete it. When qvclean tries to delete a file that does not exist it issues an error message saying that it cannot find the file. You can ignore these messages.
Note To delete a variable in a Quanvert database, use the Quanvert delete command.
Do not try to delete variables by removing variable files with operating system commands.
