Total percentages
This example illustrates total percentages. These are calculated by percentaging each cell against the total number of people in the most recent base. In this example there is only one base so percentages are calculated using the total number of people in the table. This shows that 21% of the sample were women between 21 and 34 years of age. The default of 1 decimal place for percentages has been overridden, and that percentages are printed directly beneath absolutes. This table was produced by the statement:
