Varieties of Quanvert
These versions of Quanvert are supported:
Windows-based Quanvert
UNIX-based Quanvert Text.
Because Windows-based Quanvert has superseded the MS-DOS-based Quanvert Menus, a cut-down version of the old MS-DOS-based Quanvert Menus has been released as an add-on to Windows-based Quanvert. This cut-down version is known as the Quanvert Create Utility and it provides Windows-based Quanvert users with the ability to create complex new categoric variables from existing variables.
There are two Quanvert database file structures that are currently in general use:
The new file structure that was introduced in:
Quantum and the Quanvert Database Administration (DBA) in version 5f.1.
Windows-based Quanvert in version 1.6.
Quanvert Text and Quanvert Create Utility in version 6.0.
The old file structure that is used in the preceding versions.
In this section “Quanvert” means information that is generic to all types of Quanvert, unless stated.
Note Some of the programs you use to carry out individual database administration tasks are included in the Database Administration software; others are included as part of Quanvert. Therefore, you need to have a version of Quanvert installed to be able to carry out some of these tasks. Programs that are included as part of Quanvert are noted in the relevant sections.
