Weighting to a given total
When you define targets which add up to more than the number of respondents in your sample, Quantum calculates the weights for each respondent such that the total for the weighted table equals the total of the figures in the weighting matrix. You can define your own total figure (usually the number of respondents in the sample) using the keyword total=n, where n is the required weighted total. Quantum then calculates the weights according to the values in the weighting matrix and adjusts them to match the total you have defined.
