Generating reports on the balance of OV-2 and OV-5 activities
You can run a utility that reports on the balance of operational activities used in OV-2 operational node connectivity diagrams with operational activities used in OV-5 operational activity models.
Prerequisite
There must be at least one OV-5 Activity Model and a corresponding OV-2 Op. Node Conn. diagram in the current encyclopedia. The diagram symbols must be defined and the appropriate information present for comparison.
Note Each set of OV-5 diagrams should correspond to only one OV-2 diagram; to accomplish this, you can use the OV-5 Activity Model to OV-2 Node Connectivity utility.
From the OV-2 diagram you select, a collection of operational nodes and the activities contained in those is created and compared with the activities that are in the OV-5 activity model selected. From the selected OV-2 and OV-5 diagrams balancing operations are as described below:
•All operational nodes have at least one operational activity
•All operational activities live on at least one operational node
•All operational activities contained on operational nodes are in the activity model
To generate the balance report
1 Click Tools > DoDAF Utilities.
2 Select Balance OV-2 and OV-5 Activities.
A list of top-level OV-5 activity diagrams and OV-2 operational node connectivity diagrams is displayed.
3 Select one OV-5 diagram and one OV-2 diagram from each list for balancing.
4 Click Run.
The utility retrieves all child diagrams of the selected OV-5 diagram for balancing. The report is generated in a Microsoft Word document with a list of operational nodes without operational activities and operational activities without operational activities not in the activity model.
