Generating OV-5 activity model diagrams from node tree diagrams (ABM for DoDAF)
You can use the OV-5 Node Tree to OV-5 Activity Model utility to generate OV-5 Activity Model diagrams from an existing OV-5 Node Tree diagram.
Prerequisite
At least one Node Tree diagram must be present in the current encyclopedia and that diagram must have at least one symbol on it.
You can also view nodes as operational activities by right-clicking a node and selecting Display as Operational Activity.
Procedure
1 Click Tools > DoDAF (ABM) Utilities > OV-05 Node Tree to OV-05 Activity Model.
All node tree diagrams in the current encyclopedia are shown.
2 From the list, select one or more node tree diagrams.
3 Click Run.
4 Type a name for each diagram to be created, and then click OK.
One or more OV-5 Activity Model diagrams are generated with Operational Activity symbols and parent child relationships. The upper most parent symbol becomes the context diagram for the Activity Model and each subsequent diagram is created and attached as a child to its appropriate parent symbol. The Operational Activity Symbols are arranged in a diagonal going from left to right, top and bottom. The order of the symbols are arranged in the order that they appear on the Node Tree diagram, from left to right. This utility does not place ICOM arrows; it only creates the appropriate Operational Activity symbols.
Example of an activity model diagram

Next
When you build a set of OV-5 Activity Model diagrams, you should follow the ABM syntax rules.
