Building traceability between operational and system views by using SV-5 matrices (ABM for DoDAF)
The System Function to Op. Activity Matrix provides a link between the operational and systems views. The matrix describes the mapping of operational activities to system functions, which identifies the transformation of an operational need into a definitive action performed by a system component.
The relationship between operational activities and systems functions are usually “many-to-many:” one activity is supported by multiple system functions, and one system function normally supports multiple activities.
1 Click View > Matrix Browser.
2 In the Matrix Browser, click the DoDAF ABM icon.
3 Double-click the SV-5 System Function to Operational Activities matrix.
4 Assign the appropriate relationships between the System Functions and Operational Activity.
