Business Vision
Overview
The business vision can apply to the entire enterprise or to a specific business area. This describes what it will be like when the transformations within this area are complete. The business vision describes the future vision of the business enterprise.
Example of business vision
Chelsea International Hotel Chain will be recognized as a major hotel chain and first choice for business travelers, with a reputation for providing first-rate but affordable rooms and high-level of business services. In addition, a subdivision of the hotel chain will be recognized as a major resort hotel chain, offering some of the finest hotels in top vacation spots. The Hotel Chain will have a completely automated, easy-to-use web site that enables electronic booking of reservations, and so on.
Key Business Policies
Key business policies are statements that identify the major policies necessary for the new system concepts to work. They address the critical issues resolved or critical decisions made during workshops.
Example of key business policy
Rewards will be given to employees for consistent on-time delivery and on-time arrivals.
Business Rules Comparison
Record the present state and future state of business rules as you identify, challenge, and redefine them.
Example
An old rule might be: Concentrate on new customer leads for sales opportunities.
A new rule might be: Concentrate on additional sales to existing users for sales growth opportunities.
