Derived logical processes in process hierarchy diagrams
A derived logical process (DLP) is an automated unit of work supporting one or more elementary business processes.
The derived logical process is defined within a Process Object definition. You can also associate derived logical processes with Elementary Business Processes through the matrix editor.
A DLP supports any business process that is not completely manual. A customary rule-of-thumb for creating DLP names is to provide the object name first and then the action, for example, Customer Add.
The definition of each derived logical process can contain a mini-specification of the procedure of the process. The minispec is created using structured English, and can contain Create, Read, Update, and Delete verbs. The modeler can draw upon the data that has already been modeled for the project - clicking Choices within the Minispec property provides a list of all data elements already defined in this project. They can be drag-and-dropped into the Minispec field.
